- The OnePlus 10R will finally launch in India on April 28.
- The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite will also make its debut on the same day.
- The OnePlus 10R will get support for up to 150W fast charge.
OnePlus has finally confirmed the name of the phones that it will be launching in India on April 28. The company has revealed via its official Twitter handle that the OnePlus 10R and OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite will arrive on the mentioned date. At the event, the brand will also unveil a new set of true wireless earphones that could be called OnePlus Buds Nord.
The brand has also dropped a teaser image on Twitter that confirms the base variant of the OnePlus 10R will ship with 80W fast charging support, while the high-end model will have 150W. This makes it pretty clear that OnePlus will indeed announce two versions of 10R. The leaks have so far suggested one variant will have a 4,500mAh battery with support for 150W SuperVOOC charge and the other one will offer a 5,000mAh unit, but with only 80W charge.
The handset will arrive with a boxy design and a triple rear camera setup. The company is teasing the OnePlus Ace in China with the same design. This suggests that the 10R could be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace smartphone that is launching in China on April 21. So, we will get to know more about the OnePlus 10R just days ahead of its India launch.
While the rest of the details are still officially under wraps, the leaks have claimed that the 10R will be powered by a MediaTek 8100 SoC. If this turns out to be true, then this will be the first number series phone from the brand to have a MediaTek chip, instead of a Snapdragon SoC. The OnePLus 10R could feature the same camera setup that we have seen on the OnePlus 9RT, as per leaks. It is also said to sport a big 6.7-inch AMOLED E4 display with 120Hz refresh rate.
The OnePlus 10R will likely be priced higher than the 9R and it could be priced at around Rs 40,000 in India. The brand is already offering the OnePlus 9RT in the country with a starting price of Rs 42,999. It has last year’s flagship-grade Snapdragon 888 chip under the hood.
The company also confirmed one of the key features of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite. It will sport a 5,000mAh battery and the company will bundle Oppo’s 33W SUPERVOOC charger, which OnePlus claims will top up the battery from zero to 50 percent in about 30 minutes. The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite is expected to be priced at around Rs 20,000 in India, considering the company is already selling its more premium version, the OnePlus Nord CE 2, for Rs 23,999.
The mid-range phone will reportedly use the Snapdragon 695 chipset that one will also find inside the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro+. The latter is on sale in India for Rs 20,999. The upcoming OnePlus Nord device could have a 6.58-inch panel. But, this might be an LCD screen, instead of AMOLED. If this turns out to be true, then this could be disappointing for some users, considering the competition is offering an AMOLED screen at this price range.
